Though tinnitus may have a variety of causes including medication side effects, infection, foreign matter in the ear and aging, most cases of tinnitus are actually caused by noise-induced hearing loss. Many people who suffer from tinnitus seek medical treatment, however in most cases tinnitus cannot be resolved by a physician, not even an ear specialist as there are no traditional medications available to actually treat tinnitus but are instead used to treat anxiety, insomnia, depression and other related symptoms.
Though some people are able to achieve some relief with the use of behavior modification programs that attempt to teach the brain to “ignore” the noise, these are ineffective for most, particularly with intermittent or persistent cases of tinnitus. Others may find temporary relief with the use of white noise such as a fan or digital sound machine, however this solution is not permanent and may also be ineffective for many sufferers of tinnitus.
The answer instead may lie in homeopathic medications which unlike medications that have been prescribed to treat symptoms resulting from tinnitus, will actually treat the disorder and make it stop. Homeopathic medications are also much safer than traditional medications with virtually no side effects that can occur with the use of prescription medications.
