What needs to be understood is that if the ear pain problem continues on a regular basis or if the intensity of the pain gradually increases with time, it could be symptoms of problems such as tinnitus. These ear pains may occur due any allergy, entry of any foreign particles in the ears, due to any infection in the ears or due to filling of the wax in the canal. In case the ear pain is controllable, individuals should take some precautionary measures so as to avoid letting the pain aggregate further. If the right precautions are not taken care of, it can lead to problems such as ear infections, Bell’s palsy and/or permanent deafness.

Tips to Treat Ear Pain

  • Avoiding cold water and other cold liquid consumption.
  • Chew consumables such as chewing gum which will help to open the clogged Eustachian tube and thus will reduce pain in the ears.
  • Keep the ears out of reach of water and block them with cotton swabs to avoid water entry while bathing.
  • Use warm nutmeg oil in the areas surrounding the ears.
  • Basic ear drops can be purchased from a local chemist and used to ease the ear pain.

One of the main causes of ear pain could be caused due to any allergies or fungus-like infestations growing on the ear drum. It is mainly associated with dry ear canals and ear wax which is not moistened enough. This is also It is also known as Chronic Otitis Externa. The antibodies are the main promoters or the initiators which cause these problems and it can be taken care of by using a little coconut oil to moisten the ear drum. In other cases where the ear pain is more acute, the best method to avoid this problem is to fill the ear canal with the anti fungal cream.

There is another disease which may cause the ear pain problem and is called tinnitus. It is a situation in which the person hears a ringing sound in his ears. This sound is created from an internal origin such as weak nerves in the ear canal. The sound may also be other than ringing, like, roaring, water fall sound, whistling, hissing or swishing. This problem arises in the four sections of the hearing system, namely, the outer ear, the middle ear, the inner ear or in the brain. This problem may be caused due to infections, high blood pressure, or due to any head injuries.
