Dangers of Sudden Hearing Loss

The reduction in hearing more than 30 dB for minimum 3 contiguous frequencies, within the 72 hours or even less is generally termed as SHL (Sudden hearing loss). Both genders i.e. males and females are equally affected and is commonly discovered with individuals between the ages of 30 and 60. The sudden hearing loss is considered to be varied and differs from person to person. It is generally unilateral, this means that the hearing problem occurs mainly over one ear and can be characterized along with tinnitus. Nearly 60 percent of SHL is caused on basis of viral diseases. The Massachusetts Eye and Ear infirmary recently conducted a study on detecting the virus which includes influenza type B, CMV, mumps, rubeola, varicella-zoster to occur after sudden hearing loss. In fact, vascular disease is also considered to be a cause of the sudden hearing loss. The SHL is often associated with the High levels for the cholesterol and for the low levels of  Coenzyme Q. Blood circulation in the body is affected by exploiting some agents like sildenafil and not vardenafil or Tidalafil. This is often related with sudden hearing loss which directly affects the ear drums. An audiogram is often required for diagnosing the Sudden Hearing Loss, by simply documenting the decline in the hearing aid. This particular cause for SHL has been determined by research and advanced studies. Potent infections and other factors such as otitis media and exposure to ototoxic medications have helped in the studies of sudden hearing loss. Immunity of the sudden hearing loss can be attained automatically by responses given by steroids, and relapses which may occur over a period of time. Sudden hearing loss or SHL can be tested by the Audiometric test that will help find a remedy or cure for the problem at an early stage before it leads to permanent damage.
